- Carlos Oliveira is an accomplished entrepreneur, senior advisor, and seasoned board member with a distinguished career spanning over two decades in digital innovation, entrepreneurship, economic development and public policy. As the founder of MobiComp at the age of 22, Carlos quickly demonstrated his entrepreneurial acumen, leading the company to a successful acquisition by Microsoft in 2008. His extensive experience includes serving as the Secretary of State for Entrepreneurship, Competitiveness, and Innovation in Portugal, where he was instrumental in shaping national policies to foster a competitive entrepreneurial and business environment.
- Carlos has held various advisory and executive roles, including as a member of the European Innovation Council, where he contributed to the establishment of a €10 billion innovation program. His leadership spans various sectors, including AI startups and foundations, with board memberships that underscore his expertise in governance and strategy.
- Recognized for his contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship, Carlos was honored with the “Ordem de Mérito” (“Order of Merit”) by the President of Portugal. He continues to drive significant impact, championing innovative perspectives and supporting emerging technologies to shape a future-oriented economic landscape.
